Third Place Challenge

Find Your SparkPlace

Not home. Not work. The café counter, the studio corner, the porch where the conversation just happens. We’re inviting you to notice third spaces — and help us map where belonging actually happens.

Community · Comfort · Creativity — Third Space Challenge · 2026

Why This Matters

“The places where people truly belong are worth protecting, celebrating, and helping thrive.”

We call these places SparkPlaces — spaces where Community, Comfort, and Creativity come together and people feel like they belong.

We’re asking you to find one, sit with it a while, and help us add it to a living map of third places from around the world. Every nomination is a small act of protecting the spaces that hold us.

THE CHALLENGE

01

Step into a space Find a spot that feels like a third place to you — anytime, anywhere.

02

Notice the Connection Conditions Pay attention to what makes it work: the Community that makes you feel known, the Comfort that makes you want to stay, the Creativity that keeps you coming back.

03

Nominate it Fill out the short nomination form and tell us what made that place a SparkPlace for you.

THIRD PLACES

Every Corner Counts

You don’t need a map to find a SparkPlace — Our Communities are full of them. A coffee counter, a bookstore nook, a gallery back room, the bench outside your favorite venue. Wherever you found real conversation this week, that’s a nomination waiting to happen.

Seekers get recognized

We’ll shout out the Embers and Seekers who send in the most SparkPlace nominations during CultureCon.

So does everyone's favorite third place

The most-nominated SparkPlace in the city gets recognized too — so make your visit count.

Real places. Real people. Real connection.

Tell us about a spot you discovered this week, or nominate a favorite third place from back home. Every story helps us grow the map of places where community, comfort, and creativity come together.
