Conversations in Washington, D.C.
This month, SparkAnew co-founders Amalia and Stephen had the opportunity to participate in a series of conversations in Washington, D.C. inspired by A Common Endeavor: Realizing the Promise of America.
Bringing together leaders from government, civil society, journalism, academia, and faith communities, these gatherings explored a timely question: What spiritual principles are needed to help shape America's next chapter?
Rather than focusing solely on policy, the conversations examined the deeper capacities that enable societies to flourish—trust, consultation, moral courage, justice, unity, and a shared commitment to the common good.
For SparkAnew, this experience reaffirmed a central conviction: meaningful innovation begins with human transformation. Whether in neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, nonprofits, or public institutions, lasting change depends on strengthening the relationships, creative capacities, and cultures that allow people to build together.
These themes closely align with SparkAnew's work through ACT, SparkPlace, and The Forge—initiatives designed to cultivate creativity, strengthen communities, and foster collaborative leadership capable of addressing complex social challenges.
As communities across the country reflect on the future of American society, SparkAnew looks forward to contributing to conversations that move beyond polarization toward creativity, consultation, and collective action.
